Holy Week—Thursday

“As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified…and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him…a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he was reclining at the table. When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial.

“And while they were eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me.” But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee….

Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray…Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me…Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.

‭‭He (Jesus) went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done….

Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”

Matthew 26:3, 4, 7, 12, 21, 32, 36, 38, 40, 42, 46, NIV.

Jesus—

Love on.

Fell asleep on.

Surrendered all.

Betrayed.

Our Jesus is for us, not against us.
