Fine Tuning

“He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake,” Psalm 23:3.
Walking in the morning, for me, is one of the places I find delight in the LORD. The birds are singing, it’s relatively quiet, and there’s much to see and be reminded of how good God is to all of us.
I’m currently going through a season of fine tuning. Where little things I think or do are being held up for examination.
“Was that a good or right thing to do?”
“Here is a good and right thing to do, why aren’t you leaning into it?”
“Check your thoughts, let Me help you guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.”
I am thankful I have a Father who is answering my prayer to love Him better, and to love others well. He is helping me break down my “me factor.”
At times it feels like I am walking on a really narrow path of righteousness. Like a path in my neighborhood where weeds have encroached onto the sidewalk taking up half the space to maneuver. I can get around them, but I need to be watchful and careful as to where I place my foot.
Like walking on my sidewalk, being led on my path of righteousness, where sin, like weeds, are close by, ready to attach themselves if I get too close. I, therefore, need to be hyper-focused and aware of my feet.
There are seasons where we dance on the path with God in joyful adoration—like King David. There are also seasons where there is very little room to move, so listening to God’s voice is of utmost importance. I need to be ready to hear His voice as He leads me onward. My job is to listen to where He is encouraging me to place my feet.
Do you have seasons like that? Are you in a dancing season where everything is good? Or are you in a fine-tuning season, where God is teaching you to listen and obey His whisper?
(Feel free to comment below. I'd love to hear your thoughts.)
Father,
I finally get it—that when Jesus was preparing His heart and mind to die, He was hyper-focused. So, when Peter said —You don’t have to die, Jesus called him Satan. When we’re on a narrow section of our path, we need to be around those who whisper Your truth to us. Encouraging us to hear Your voice and obey. Not those who justify their protection.
Teach us to hear Your small voice when the path narrows. Teach us to submit our hearts and minds to You daily, for Your name’s sake.
Help us in turn to be a whispering cheerleader to others. One who doesn’t drown out Your voice of truth but mimics it for another to hear You in stereo.
Thank You for both the sections of our life path with You. The places where we can dance, and also to focus on You and You alone.
Thank You that You sent Your son Jesus, to mark the path ahead of us. Sometimes His strides are challenging to follow. Help us keep up.
Amen.

I like moms prayer request. A blessed reminder of your voice and her commitment to Papa.
Dear Lord, help us be attentive and obedient to Your fine tuning.
