“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it,” Proverbs 4:19, NIV.

Walking over to one of my favorite places to stop and chat with God, I looked up. I noticed a plane fly into a cloud. The plane was a solid mass whereas the cloud is just vapor—but the plane completely disappeared. Vanished. I couldn’t see it at all, for a moment.

I thought, aren’t we the same? We are so easily taken in by Satan’s “vapors,” his clouds. Even though his lies are like a cloud, there are times when God’s truth seems to totally vanish from our mind—and in these times, we believe Satan's lie.

But the plane didn’t stay hidden. It flew out the other side, as if passing through a cloud was an everyday experience, (which we know it is). It was easy because it was just vapor with little mass, compared to a heavy plane.

When we remember God’s Word is truth and power, it's very weight can help us block Satan’s lies. We can fly away from our momentary cloud experience, unscathed. Giving God the glory.

We do need to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus—who is the author of our faith. By knowing what He says, about Satan and his lies.

We can assist God by knowing His Word. So, when we are in a “cloud,” God can remind us of what we know to be true.

Are you getting to know God’s word? Keep it up, His truth shall set you free.

Father,

You gave us Your very Word because You love each of us dearly. Thank You. You are a relational Father who desires our attention. Help us to listen to You, trust what You say, and obey it.

You who created the clouds and You who conquered death are worthy of our praise and gratitude.

You gave us victory, so we don’t need to listen to Satan’s lies anymore.
